(Nattokinase is derived from natto, hence its name.) If you search Medline, you will find studies that seem to indicate that this is a healthy food, protecting against blood clots and osteoporosis. If I could find a source in my area, I would buy natto. As it is, I take both vitamin K and nattokinase. | | Back to Top

He tells me the Allergy Research Group supplement does not contain vitamin K, although I know that the form eaten by the people of Japan does. This is available through LEF. It isn't working for me but I believe it's caused by overuse of nicotine lozenges. I quit smoking 5 years ago after a 43 year habit, and now am nearly as addicted to the lozenges! My fibrinogen was 555 five months ago, 496 after two months of Nattokinase, then 556 in August. I will have another test in a week or two. My doctor tells me he has never seen a case where Nattokinase didn't work so it no doubt is due to nicotine constricting the arteries. I'm working on my habit! | | Back to Top

The nattokinase is suppose to have similar attributes and more compared to coumadin except that nattokinase may not be as long lasting, so I understand it would have to be taken more often during the day. If anyone is taking nattokinase as a relacement for coumadin or has been informed by a physcian that nattokinase serves the same purpose as coumadin, please let me know. | | Back to Top
