Best Vitamin = C at 3 grams or B5 at 5 grams. Mineral = Magnisium at 100% of the daily requirement
Amino Acid= Carnitine 3 grams or Acetyl L Carnitine = ?
Best supplement ( other catagory. Non hormonial. ) Either Q.10, R Lipoic Acid combo or a high quality Protien shake.
Hormone = Putting injectible Hgh aside because of cost. I would say 4 A.D
Your thought PLEASE!!!!!! | | Back to Top

Also, more info would be needed in order to give more specific supplement recommendations. For instance, budget. How much are you willing to spend monthly? Age, bodyfat, current diet, are needed as well. With that being said, I will list a generic recommendation for supplementation. Also, to pick just one supp for each category is not the best approach IMO.

Right next door to my grocery store there's this supplements store, so I went in and asked the guy for some advice... He sold me these incredible supplements good for weight control, so I bought them with my grocery money. I'm not sure exactly what they are, though... the label is in Spanish - it says "Frijoles Magicos".

Sorry I took long to respond.
1. I'm on a low budget (no set budget on the supplements) but if I absolutely find it necessay I will pay more for an item.
2 This is my 37th year.
3. I Eat like a freakin pig with fried foods all the time. That's the problem. Its a combination of large appetite and my addiction to fried chicken! and sometimes ice cream!!
4. What kind of fruit extract supplement?
5. B complex only makes me eat more, so that's out.
6. I hear that CLA produces side effects. Do you know anything about this?
PS I'm 5 ft 6 inches and a God awful 65 pounds over weight! I'm 230. I should be 165. I look darn good when I'm that weight but it seems impossible to get to that weight again. Post Edited (JasonT) : 1/10/2007 6:01:00 PM (GMT-5) | | Back to Top

If on a low budget, you should use funds for purchasing the right kinds of foods first and foremost. Healthy, whole foods are more expensive than junk/processed foods. If after buying your foods, you are able to afford some supplements, I would start with a good green tea. I would try to drink at least 8 cups per day preferably, but if not go with a supplement. Secondly, a good omega 3 fat source (3 grams per day at first).
I mention a fruit extract, because if your are serious about losing bodyfat, you will probably need to eliminate most fruits from your diet due to sugar content. This is the reason for supplemental fruit extract. Something like Vitaberry, or a blueberry/pomegranate blend will do the trick. They will provide the needed antioxidants.
Having a large appetite is not necessarily a bad thing. You just need to eat the right foods. The last thing you want to do is slow your metabolism or loose muscle.
I have had good results with CLA. No side effects after 2 years of use. I have not heard of any negative sides. | | Back to Top

Same goes with amino acids. If you're getting enough protein in your diet you should be fine. A whey or casein shake would be a great addition, though.
As far as nonhormonal? Fish oils.
Hormone? Testosterone. Nothing, not even GH, can recomp the body like good old test. | | Back to Top

I would do a search and find out the best way for you to test for food sensitivities. There are many ways to achieve this such as elimination of certain foods, testing your pulse rate after eating one type of food, blood tests, etc. I have a book by Dr. James Braly that is about food allergies and sensitivities. He says, if you remove the foods that cause a sensitivity, you will absolutely lose weight! The good news is if you stay away from these foods for a few months most of the time your body forgets that it had a sensitivity to them and you can introduce them back into your diet with no problems. Coconut oil will also help you lose weight because it is a medium chain trilglyceride, which is not stored as fat but used for energy! One or two tablespoons before a meal will help with your weight loss! Sally B. | | Back to Top

I think there is no "best vitamin" or "best mineral" because each one plays it's own unique vital function. | | Back to Top

yza said...Jason any update on lossing your weight. Did you already tried hoodia gordonii supplement?
I have failed big time. I haven't tried Hoodia yet, It just might be my last chance. I think I have to mix it with ephedrine.
By the way I was wondering, Do you happen to know what happens if you take too much Chromium?
I'm not sure if its linked to my recent weight Gain. I've been taking 2.4 to 3.2 grams a day.
Any info on this. | | Back to Top
