The last four Nobel Prizes in Physiology and Medicine were awarded for work in this field. MIT's magazine, The Massachuesetts Institute of Technology Review, has released an issue entitled "10 Emerging Technologies That Will Change the World." This field was listed among the ten.
This is my understanding of what is taking place - not the scientific explanation! :o)) Apparently, the body (with exception of bones), has a complete cell exchange every 90 days. As we age, we continue to accumulate toxins, which we know, causes all kinds of cellular disturbance (receptor/communication problems), resulting in numerous symptoms and related diseases. When a cell replicates, the new attachs to the old and takes on the same characteristics. So if the old is weakened or damaged, the new will be in a similar state. Cells get weaker and consequently we "live too short and die too long".
If I heard it stated correctly, one of those Nobel prizes were awarded for the discovery that the body requires 8 essential sugars and that we are lacking 6 of them, primarily due to the poor quality of our food supply, caused by mass production techniques. When these essential "simple" sugars are supplemented, the cells begin to communicate - becoming and reproducing healthier cells. The body begins to heal itself naturally.
As opposed to Beta glucans which, I understand, attach to the exterior of the cell; alpha glycans are available and absorbable at the cellular level. I believe this is where Nanosphere technology and Nature are mixed to deliver life-nutrients to the cells.
There were some amazing testimonies - a 3 year dialysis patient has been taking these since Nov. 06 and is now starting to experience "kidney regeneration" and is able to urinate small amounts. (His doctor says this is 1 in 1 million - however, this has happened to others utilizing alpha glyconutrients). Diabetes patients are seeing favorable responses in blood sugar levels, cholesterol is dropping, fibromyalgia, stroke, memory, arthritis, MS, constipation, low energy and more conditions are becoming more manageable.
My mother is ready to try it for 90 days- is 86 and opposed to other medical intervention/shots/pills for knee pain. Hopefully it will help her memory too!

Sorry for the delay in responding and for pointing out the inaccurate years and claims regarding glyconutrients tied to Nobel prizes 1999-2001, as the winners themselves have disputed such claims according to an article in the Star-Telegram.com in September 2006. Since I'm not involved with the mentioned company, I apologize for posting information circulated without verifying it first, and intended no harm.
Just like many feel there is a need and have had remarkable results by supplementing with vitamins, minerals, enzymes, amino and fatty acids, some feel glyconutrients are necessary and experiencing results.
I found some resources for a better background in the field and perhaps this is why supplementation is a consideration.
"The 2007 Glycobiology Gordon Research Conference will be held March 4-9 at the Four Points Sheraton in Ventura, California. This meeting will bring together senior and junior scientists, postdoctoral fellows, and students in an informal and relaxed setting to present and discuss the most recent advances in glycoconjugate structure, biosynthesis, metabolism, and function . . . These Conferences provide a valuable means of disseminating information and ideas in a way that cannot be achieved through the usual channels of communication - publications and presentations at large scientific meetings."
Hope this helps straighten out the misinformation!

The body uses glycoproteins which are made from http://www.findoptimalhealth.com glyconutrients (a type of saccharide) and proteins. However the research's focus was on the protein's role rather than the saccharides' role in the communication. | | Back to Top

Was this a multi-level marketing company doing a seminar? Or another type of company trying to sell a product? Or was this just a research meeting only. Can you clarify please? | | Back to Top

Hi Folks,
I'm new here. I was doing some research on cellular nutrition, and came across this site, and this thread. We are taking a cellular nutrition product that I think is amazing. We've been on it for about 1.5 years. We also drink raw goat milk (we raise dairy goats) eat free range eggs, lotsa good veggies, etc. I guess we're trying to be "health nuts" but there's a lot worse things to be, eh? If anyone has any questions about cell nutrition, alpha glycans, etc., I'd be glad to help. I won't mention the name of our product, or try to "recruit" anyone. I feel that I've become fairly well educated on this subject, and have put on numerous Health & Wellness seminars myself. I don't know it all, but I can tell you this: I will never be without this "functional food" again. It's done wonders for some of my critters, as well!

I have just come across this info as well and you sound down to earth and willing to share your experience, dtkalbach@verizon.net email me to let me know you get this and I will forward my cell number. | | Back to Top
