I'm going to ask a somewhat dumb question, but does lecithin (phosphatidylcholine) provide enough straight choline also, or should I be taking Alpha GPC or CDP choline too? It's been a little unclear to me which is better.

Also, in terms of DMAE, I prefer Centrophenoxine, as it is supposed to help lower lipofuscin levels.

If you are speaking of straight lecithin and not a phosphatidylcholine product, many of them are only about 10 percent phosphatidylcholine, and phosphatidylcholine itself is not 100 percent choline.

I use "Memory-enhancing Brain Tonic" - herbal supplement for about 2 month. It looks like it doing a good job. My memory and sharpness improved dramatically. I'm 65 y/o. I got the tonic here: http://herbs4cure.com/memory.htm

I'd pretty much second Perpetual's list.

Personally, the Bacopa and huperzine I've tried gave me zero to negative results. But that's just me.

P. serine is also pretty great for me, as has been high EPA (low DHA) fish oils - I want to combine them next time since they both deal with membranes.

Good quality of fresh-brewed green tea is also pretty nice.

(-) BPAP looks intriguing - I wish it was cheaper and more available...

Is good ol’ Hydergine now a thing of the past? I’ve been using it off and on now for about 20 years, but I see very little mention of it nowadays. I take 4.5 mg./day, on an empty stomach, with a teaspoon of piracetam and 642 mg. of taurine. This combination does absolute wonders for motivation. I take it right before my morning cup of green tea, and the combination is nothing short of miraculous. For several hours afterwards I feel a clear-headed, ambitious drive and multitasking becomes almost effortless. I’ve also noticed that when I use this stack I have absolutely no desire whatsoever to consume alcohol. I will admit that I’m a little out of the loop these days on current LE science. Is anybody else still using Hydergine?

I am playing for sometime already with Cognitex (mostly for its A-GPC, vinpocetine and the PS complex), DMAE (but will also look at centrophenoxine), DHEA (for deficiency) and more recently with piracetam as also discussed here.

With piracetam i am noticing the nice effect of a more lucid recall of dreams in the morning. As piracetam is also supposed to potentiate acetylcholine this is maybe no surprise as this neurotransmitter peaks during dreaming, while the amines - norepinephrine and dopamine - are operating more during wakefulness.

I noticed better score results on a scientifically sound brain fitness program and I am curious to know if I will have any additional improvement following the piracetam cycle.

I have brain damage due to neuro lyme. My doctor works at a cutting edge lyme clinic and the brain pills he is having me take are:

Phosphatidyl Serine Complex by Source Naturals
ActiFolate by Metagenics
FolaPro by Metagenics
These are all taken once a day.

Also General Vitamin Neurological Health Formula by Holistic Health International twice a day. I think this can only be gotten through a health care professional.

I've used a number of the brain helpers posted here. I'd like to try some of the others, like Hydergine. I tried to get a prescription for it once, but the doctor I had back then was anti all drugs.

I took lithium orotate for a while and will probably take it again.

Can Spices Improve Your Brain Power?
“There’s rosemary, that’s for remembrance…”
– Ophelia to Laertes, Hamlet

"There are only a few things that make me break out in a cold, heart-stopping, sweaty panic: getting stuck in a dark, tight cave; snakes; and dying alone. Oh, uh, uh… I almost forgot. There is one other thing: losing my memory… my mind… to a life-robbing disease such as Alzheimer’s. . . "
