It does seem to work well as a growth hormone releaser, in addition to promoting flexible blood vessels and decreasing blood pressure.  I personally take Arginine Caps  for heart health, and to assist with my weight lifting program.  I would also recommend the following for your HGH goals:

·    Super MiraForte with Maximum Strength Chrysin

·    Arginine - Ornithine Capsule Complex

·    Creatine Whey Glutamine Powder

·    Enhanced Life Extension Protein (Chocolate)

Hope this helps.

Dave

Arginine is good but I prefer ornithine. But beware that both contain about 1 PPM of lead, which is insignificant at 500 mg. but if you do say, 6 grams 3 to 4 times a day, it's not so insignificant anymore. Durk and Sandy reported doses of 20 grams a day in the 1978 book. I did 24 in a day. It was great but the lead was too high. I average about 6 grams now and do heavy metal detox frequently to be safe.

Does it work better with lysine or alone?

Where did you get the information that arginine contains lead? Can you expand on that and/or reply with a published source. Thanks!

I've been searching for this supplement online since the GNC multi-vitamin/mineral powder I have contains 1,000 mg of it as Di-arginine malate and I wanted to know how safe it was to consume. I haven't found any info about it that mentions it as an hgh releaser.

I found the following info about di-arginine malate (which is said to be better than L-arginine):

"Di-arginine malate is two molecules of the amino acid arginine bonded to one molecule of malic Acid. It is extremely useful in enhancing the immune system.

Arginine is also important in the repair of tissue as well as the formation of collagen and building of new bone and tendons."

"Arginine malate is an arginine molecule bound to a malic acid molecule. Arginine is an amino acid that is a precursor of nitric oxide in the body . . . "

Arginine is one of my favorite supplements. Take at least 6 capsules a day.

I take 1000 mg of arginine every day - a very conservative dose - and have found several health benefits: much better sleep and better gastrointestinal function were the quickest and most obvious.
