It would seem a person might be lacking with this occurring. With the clinically obese or for short term reduction in weight I can see a great benefit. Consistent, long term use maybe is not such a great idea? | | Back to Top

What Life Extension should have done is try this product out with some LEF members before getting everybody so excited about this product. I had to go to another company to get results that I was looking for. | | Back to Top

I turned off my computer and turned on some walking exercise DVDs. My total weight loss is 17 pounds. It took over a year, but I didn't gain it overnight. We, also, now go dancing one to three times per week.
Lef checked my thyroid and the results came back within normal limits. Some take bioidentical hormones and I would never do that. If anything, I may have too many. I have found that a good night's sleep is absolutely a must. Try weighing in relation to sleep. Your weight can drop a pound or so between 2 or 3 AM and the time you get up IF you sleep. If I am having an insomnia night, the weight does not go off and sometimes jumps up. I sometimes lose sleep due to restless legs syndrome which I have somewhat handled with OTC products and an old fashion hot water bottle. Then, worrying about not falling asleep (sleep anxiety) becomes a conundrum. I chant (Don't think; go to sleep) in my mind to get rid of that! For sleep aid I alternate melatonin, Tryptopure Plus, Theanine Serene and sometimes Sleep MD as needed, but not on the same night!
The third thing I'm doing is eating a little more protein and less sugar. We avoid all HFC's and bromated products now.
So far at 70 I have avoided all prescription drugs. I buy a lot of things from LEF and a few nature made products. My BP is 116/64 and my pulse runs 68-72. I feel fortunate. I do avoid doctors and their generously offered prescriptions. I try to find alternative cures and believe in prevention.
I let my weight creep up over the last ten years, but never again.

Irvingia a year and a half later
I still take the 'original' Irvingia, since I have a horde of it. I take the extra 'helpers' (green tea, bladderwack, kelp, white kidney bean) to make it the equiv of Irvingia Phase 2.
It still works for me.. I have no appetite, but food still tastes good.
I lost about 100 lbs in the first year, and then weight loss stopped, but still eating very little. What happened is my metabolism went into "starvation mode," I was freezing and could take high temps well. After about 4-5 months of holding my own, I started doing two stair climbs/day, about 6 flights. That seems to have restarted my metabolism and the weight is going down again.
I also take 18/day of LEF fish oil Super Omega-3 (prod 01482).

For several weeks, I was very happy, since I lost 10 pounds and my waist shrunk from a 40 to a 38. I wanted more, but it didn't happen. I hit a stone wall and, in the several months since, I have not lost a pound or an inch. I cannot help but think that my original weight loss was due to my diet alone, and the two LEF products mentioned above are useless. | | Back to Top

Taking a high dose of 7-Keto DHEA (125 mg to 200 mg/day) does seem to work, but I've been on this for only a few weeks, so I don't want to say for sure. From 2003 to Augst of 2010 I was taking only 50 mg/day of 7-Keto DHEA, which was certainly not enough, as I so clearly understand now. | | Back to Top

Will Optimized Irvingia sales be discontinued and replaced this product with Calorie Control Weight Management?
I personally believe both formulas are so good (one with Phase 3, another one with LuraLean). | | Back to Top
