Does anyone else feel this way and is anyone taking supplements to help prevent the swine flu? Which supplements are you taking? I read oil of oregano and grapefruit extract are good ones for the immunity system. | | Back to Top

I am taking D3, A, and I have colloidal silver on hand as well. I have heard a few reports of people in my area getting it and it's over in a week. Like a bad cold. Honestly I'm not worried about the flu itself but will NOT trust that vaccine!! Something reeeeaalllly fishy going on what that vaccine. | | Back to Top

Should I take more? Are their any other supplements you would suggest? I take vit .C, selenium, magnesium, ubiquinol, and a few others. I will not get either of the flu vaccines either. | | Back to Top

The times when I have become sick are when I've burned the candle at both ends, didn't get enough sleep, and didn't eat a wide variety of whole foods. Make sure you're getting plenty of protein, fruits, vegetables, you're not skipping meals. Go to bed early and try to get 8 to 10 hours of sleep. These things keep your immune system strong to fight off disease. Here are some foods that I feel are highly nutritious and low cost: Omega-3 eggs (eat the whole eggs! - the yolks are so, so nutritious!) wild salmon (you can get it in the can and prepare it much like a tuna salad with a natural mayo. It's delicious!), blue berries, strawberries, apples, oranges, steel cut oatmeal, brown rice, lentils, lots of orange and red vegetables (vit A), like squashes - butternut and acorn squash, carrots, yams. Don't forget the water too. As soon as you wake up in the morning have a big, tall mug of fresh water with lemon in it - have another one before lunch and another one before dinner.
If anyone knows me on here they will know I am a BIG supporter of bee products. Propolis has natural antibiotic properties.. You can read my post HERE | | Back to Top

So, it is rather remarkable that only two residents of 275 developed ILI, one of which did not develop it here, while 103 of 800 staff members had ILI. It appears that the spread of H1N1 was not from staff-to-resident but from resident-to-staff (most obvious in the imported case) and between staff, implying that staff were susceptible and our residents protected.
Even if one excludes 43 staff members who called in sick with influenza, 0.73% of residents were affected, as compared to 7.5% of staff. This 10-fold difference was statistically significant (P<0.001). That is, the chance that this was a chance occurrence is one less than one in a thousand.
....
I share an office with another family physician. I aggressively measure and replete vitamin D. He does not. He is seeing one to 10 cases per week of influenza-like illness. In my practice-- I have had zero cases. My patients are universally on 2000-5000 IU to maintain serum levels 50-80 ng/ml. | | Back to Top

The trick is to pay attention to your body and take it at the very first sign of illness. Or, if you've been exposed to anything, take it for a few days as a preventative. Dr. Atkins spoke about it in his book on Nutriceuticals many years ago. Supposedly, it was also tested by the CDC years ago as well and works against "envelope" viruses eliminating the sticky outer coating and therefore rendering them unable to attach and spread. Ergo the importance of taking at the beginning. Anyway, I can tell you that it works for me. No one at works believes me, but then again, they all prefer pharma drugs... | | Back to Top

more info @ Dr Cannel Website
I take two Biotech D3-50's (50,000 IU) per week. This is about 14.600 IU/day
Body can make 20,000 IU/day in sun bathing.
Be sure to get the 25(OH)Vitamin-D blood test at checkups. Dr Cannel says it should be 50-90 ng/ml optimal. My level is 64 ng/ml.
A friend who took three 50,000/week for a year, was 152 ng/ml.. that is near hypercalcemia. He is cutting it back to 1/week for now. He doesnt get sick anymore.
Between colloidal silver as needed (37 ppm silver carbonate) and D3, I have not been sick for 8 years now.
Not taking those mercury/squalene shots! (regular & H1N1)
