AVOID BUTYL

CONSIDER GLYCONUTRIENTS FOR HELP

Why I suspect BUTYL not AO as the prinary cause of harm to the Vietnam Vets,
Primary harm to WWII vets & many who worked in manufacturing in the 30s & 40s to present

Special thanks to the Advisory Committee on Gulf War Vets who have spent a lot of time gathering information and reporting their findings to the public and to the Federal Government.  What to do next?

Dear Mother Margaret, You continually mention: butyl as something harmful and to be avoided. Butyl is a component of many different compounds. It can only exist as a free radical for a very short period of time. There are many compounds that possess a butyl component and I am sure some are harmful. For example: the radical butyl needs one more hydrogen atom to become the stable compound butane. Is there a more complete name for what you refer to as butyl? ...Oscar

Hello again, I went to the weblink you provided and there were quite a number of compounds that had butyl as a portion of the name of proposed toxic chemicals. I do take a personal interest in this. For one thing I believe that : BUTYLATED HYDROXYTOLUENE can be very benificial to many people suffering from life threatening viral diseases such as hepatitis-C. And I consider it very misleading of you to lump all compounds with BUTYL as part of thier names as toxc to be very misleading. Also, I am one of those Viet Nam veterans. I contracted hepatitis-C through blood transfusions and believe it was BUTYLATED HYDROXYTOUENE that CURED me of that dreadful disease. I know you mean well, but please make more of an effort when naming compounds. ...Oscar
