Does that seem like a preposterous scenario to you ? I will say that it is not only possible, but all but inevitable and due to occur within the next 30 years. Some say the year 2012 is when the technological advance rate meets the timeline and indicates that is the year this series of events is due to occur. Notable sceintists including : Stephen Hawking, Vernor Vinge, John Von Neumann, and a very many others are referenced in an article published in WIKIPEDIA at : [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technilogical_singularity ] If , or as many believe this series of events WILL occur, it will be the most momentous event of all time. We, the human race will have created computer robots with the capacity for unlimited intelligence. Immortal and Godlike in many respects. We ourselves may be able to transfer our own minds and consciousness into such an entity and become Godlike. I know this all seems too fantastic to be true. But the more I read about it the more convinced I am that it is inevitable. This wiki piece is a good place to start with. There are many other websites discussing all this. Check into it. You owe it to yourself.

YOU HAVE TO SCROLL DOWN 4OR 5 POSTINGS TO WHERE A WORKING LINK TO THIS IMPORTANT AND INTERESTING SUBJECT CAN BE FOUND. The LINK is highlighted in blue so it is easy to find. Sorry, I have tried everything, I cannot get that link to work. If interested enough google : wikipedia+technological singularity . The article should be there right at the top of results. Regards ...Dr.Syntax

DDYE, what is the problem with this link ? It works in all other forums I have used it in. This piece discussed in that wiki piece is the best I have found that presents a comprehensive overview of tis crucially important subject that we are all faced with NOW.. I WILL TRY AGAIN AT: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technological_singularity. All forums concerned with the well being of mankind need to concern themselves with this issue, ...Dr.Syntax
